Mackintosh Ceiling Fixture
Inspired by the Work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh — Quarter-Sawn White Oak
The Mackintosh is one of the most distinctive pieces in the Craftsmen Studio collection, created by special request and inspired by the architectural and decorative work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh — the Scottish architect and designer whose elegant, nature-drawn aesthetic made him one of the defining figures of the international Arts and Crafts movement at the turn of the twentieth century.
The frame is crafted from hand-selected quarter-sawn white oak — chosen for the characteristic medullary ray flecking that gives properly quartered oak its distinctive natural depth — and features hand-hammered copper corner brackets that echo the metalwork of the early Arts and Crafts period. The combination of pale, figured oak and warm aged copper gives this fixture a visual character entirely unlike the mahogany pieces found elsewhere in the collection.
The stained glass panels incorporate the iconic Mackintosh rose, faithfully interpreted using the copper foil method for crisp, precise lines and richly glowing color. [Update with specific glass colors when confirmed — e.g. "rendered in soft pink and cream against a pale green ground" or similar.] The result is a fixture that bridges the organic warmth of the Arts and Crafts tradition with the refined geometry that made Mackintosh's work so enduringly influential.
Each fixture is made entirely to order and fully customizable. Custom glass colors and sizing available upon request.
