Brighton Ceiling Fixture
Greene & Greene Inspired Flush Mount — Freeman A. Ford House
The Brighton is an original Craftsmen Studio design inspired by the lighting of the Freeman A. Ford House in Pasadena, California, completed in 1908 — one of Charles and Henry Greene's most accomplished early residential commissions and a refined early expression of their developing Arts and Crafts vocabulary.
The fixture is handcrafted from hand-selected African mahogany featuring the cloud-lift lower edges and genuine Gaboon ebony accent details that are among the most recognizable hallmarks of Greene & Greene design. Every joint is assembled using traditional through mortise-and-tenon construction, a mark of structural honesty that Greene & Greene elevated into an art form.
The hand-leaded iridescent glass panels are crafted using the copper foil method, casting a warm, diffused light across the ceiling and walls — making this fixture ideally suited to a great room, entry hall, or any space where Arts and Crafts character and enveloping light are equally valued.
Made entirely to order. Custom glass colors available upon request.
