Riverside Table Lamp

Prairie School Arts and Crafts Lamp — Quarter-Sawn White Oak

The Riverside is an original Craftsmen Studio design rooted in the Prairie School lamp tradition of the Peterson Furniture Company of Faribault, Minnesota — one of the early 1900s makers whose work helped define the American Arts and Crafts aesthetic. The tapered base and low-pitch square shade are handcrafted from hand-selected quarter-sawn white oak, assembled with traditional mortise and tenon joinery and finished by hand. The Riverside's rectangular windows below the shade give this piece a more craftsman furniture feel than the typical bungalow lamp.

The lamp is fitted with two pull-chain operated sockets and is available in two glass options: warm amber mica, which casts the softly diffused honeyed glow most associated with Prairie and Craftsman interiors; or a handmade poppy flower design in copper foil stained glass, for a more decorative and colorful light. Both options cast a warm, intimate light well suited to a reading corner, side table, or bedside in any Arts and Crafts, bungalow, or traditionally furnished home.
