Charles Limbert Column Lamp

Limbert Model 7 Reproduction — Circa 1910

The Charles Limbert Double Column Lamp is a faithful handcrafted reproduction of Limbert's rare Model 7 — one of the most striking and collectible lamp designs of the American Arts and Crafts era. Charles Limbert of Grand Rapids, Michigan was among the most innovative furniture and lighting makers of the early 1900s, and the double column lamp represents some of his most ambitious work: a form that is simultaneously architectural, sculptural, and deeply functional.

The base is built from hand-selected quarter-sawn white oak using traditional mortise and tenon joinery, with two parallel columns rising from the six footed base to support the copper shade. The hand-hammered copper shade is fitted with inset mica panels that cast the warm amber glow characteristic of Arts and Crafts lighting — overlaid with intricately cut copper vine and leaf motifs, each leaf uniquely formed by hand. No two shades are identical. The lamp holds two individually sockets rated for up to 75 watts each operated by a high/low roller switch.

Made entirely to order. At over 22 inches wide this is a substantial piece — a true statement lamp for a library, study, or any room where period furnishings are valued.
